Preview of Week 1 at Edge Esmeralda 2024
The first week is one of the most special times in a popup village – hope you can make it!
Don’t forget to book lodging and buy tickets soon! Prices will keep going up each week, and we only have a limited number of hotel rooms at the rates we negotiated.
We’re just 18 days away from the start of Edge Esmeralda! Below you’ll find a preview of the key programs and activities in Week 1 (Sunday, June 2 - Sunday, June 9).
The first week is one of the most special times in a popup village, because it is when everyone is just getting to know each other and building the culture that will define the rest of the month.
We recommend coming for at least the Opening Ceremony, because it’ll set the tone and give you a great opportunity to meet other attendees. (Note: Anyone with a ticket for any part of the month is welcome to join, i.e. you don’t need a Week 1 ticket to join the Opening Ceremony!)

Opening Ceremony (Sunday, June 2)
Kick off the month with us with lawn games at 5pm and an opening dinner at 6pm followed by fun community activities led by the Edge Esmeralda team and Manish Vora, co-founder of Museum of Ice Cream. The Opening Ceremony is always a really special moment in a popup village, so we hope you can make it!
Hard Tech Weekend (Friday, June 7 - Sunday, June 9)
Eli Dourado from the Abundance Institute is teaming up with Ben Reinhardt from Speculative Technologies to organize a multi-day unconference. They’ve invited leaders in sectors like energy, transportation, aerospace, defense, and manufacturing to share ideas on topics such as R&D, regulatory reform, financing capital-intensive projects, and beyond.
Advanced Market Commitments for Everything (Saturday, June 8)
Led by Nan Ransohoff, Head of Stripe Climate, this program will dive into how Advanced Market Commitments can be a powerful tool for spurring innovation to address problems where there is potential for commercial incentive in the long term. These are incredibly important for the future, and this workshop will be focused on how you can start an AMC or get involved!
Living Better, Living Longer (Monday, June 3 - Friday, June 7)
Organized by Justin Mares and Julia Lipton, this track will have daily workouts, an opportunity for a full blood draw and health assessment on Monday, and evening salons with leading health experts. The week will culminate in an all-day unconference on Friday. We’ll focus on ways to improve your health span and the latest research on mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual health.
AI & Meaning Event (Thursday, June 6)
AI can help us understand ourselves more deeply, which in turn can help us build institutions that are aligned with what we actually care about. Come join us for an immersive evening experience with the team from the Meaning Alignment Institute, which recently published a paper with OpenAI about democratic values, for an evening of exploration of what we find most important.
Culture program (Tuesday, June 4 - Friday, June 7)
Manish Vora from the Museum of Ice Cream will lead an engaging program to unlock your imagination and co-create a day of experiences with the Edge Esmeralda community. This will kick off the month-long culture track. Manish and his team have meticulously crafted this program, ensuring you'll have a unique opportunity to learn and co-produce some incredible experiences around connection and FUN!
Throughout the week, we’ll also have community dinners, spontaneous workouts, and—of course—deep work time to focus during the days.
We are excited to see you in 18 days!
It is not an easy UI not clear how to register or where events take place!!!
