Update on the Sonoma County wildfire
Everything is ok in downtown Healdsburg; our team is keeping a close eye on the situation; & we have contingency plans in place
Hi everyone! We wanted to share a quick update on the current situation with the Point Fire and how it’s impacting Edge Esmeralda.
The big takeaway: Everything is overall fine here in downtown Healdsburg, and our team is monitoring the situation closely.
The good news is that from talking to local experts, there is no serious concern that the fire will impact downtown Healdsburg (where ~all of EE is located), because there is an extensive barrier of vineyards, the highway, and lots of breaks made by firefighters.
The main impact to EE so far has been the smoke. Yesterday afternoon, the air quality was quite unpleasant, but it’s already gone back to normal here in downtown Healdsburg. (Screenshot below of AirVisual.) If it does become a problem again, we have enough indoor venues for everyone to spend as much time indoors as they’d like in order to avoid the smoke.
Finally, everyone at EE has the opportunity to head up to Camp Navarro this weekend, so if the air quality worsens or if the fire is for some reason not contained, heading up to Camp Navarro will be a great way to avoid it!
