In the post about E.E coming to Healdsburg, it says organizers spoke with "at least one local a day" and those locals were "excited to welcome E.E. However, there are quite a few locals who are not thrilled to have something like this occur, especially given the fact that locals must still pay $200.00 to participate in this "utopia settlement discussion". The point of making healdaburg "better for the future" is in what light? Better for the rich mongrels who flock to Healdsburg pushing out locals and forcing people who have lived here their whole lives to move? Forcing locals to co-incide with tourism that doesn't benefit them? Making Healdsburg a "utopia for the rich, while damning the poor" is what a lot of actual Healdsburg locals feel this is and has been occuring in Healdsburg.
There are many people who lived in Healdsburg, who can't afford to any longer. There are many people who have lived here for decades, yet due to recent tourism and the infrastructure for the rich, had to move out of Healdsburg yet they still have jobs here, because what doesn't scream "better future" than not being able to afford to live in the city in which you work.
The fact of the E.E utopia for the rich pop up is that this will just become a conversation only for people who have money, the locals that are the backbone of Healdsburg can't afford to attend, so the voice who actually matter in these types of situations will never be heard. This is sad, disrespectful to locals, and above all else stripping the voices of people who keep Healdsburg afloat.
We will send details in the next few weeks on how to pick-up your wristband, which will act as your 'ticket' for the events. I'll email you a link to the Telegram group.
could you write me an email to sophie@edgeesmeralda.com so I can answer your questions properly? :) I cannot find a mail address for you so please reach out to me via mail! Thank you :))
We, CraftWork, look forward to being a resource for all Edge Esmeralda attendees!
